Both Gary LeVox and Jay DeMarcus are from Columbus, Ohio. Joe Don Rooney grew up along the Oklahoma-Texas border. The band released its first album in 2000. Rascal Flatts has released four full length albums to date, as well as a live album. The group was also on the soundtrack for the Disney movie Cars singing "Life is a Highway" (the song originally written and performed by Tom Cochrane). "I Melt" controversy Rascal Flatts achieved notoriety in 2003 with their music video for the single "I Melt". Some fans objected to the video (which starred band member Joe Don Rooney and model Christina Auria) because it contained brief nudity; these fans wanted the video banned from CMT and Great American Country. Eventually, an edited version of the video was released, with the inappropriate parts blurred out. The video is no longer aired on CMT Canada, because of the nudity. Source Wikipedia |
