Started: 1994 City and Country of Origin: Orlando, Florida Music Training: Kevin Richardson and Brian Littrell started their singing careers in local church choirs, Awards: "Smash Hits Awards," Best Newcomers of 1995 Top Recordings: "We've Got It Goin' On," "Quit Playin' Games (With My Heart)" and "As Long as You Love Me" Backstreet Boys Biography: The group first experienced success in Canada and Europe in 1996 with their debut album. The group is comprised of members cousins Kevin Richardson and Brian Littrell, both of whom come from Lexington, Kentucky and Howie Dorough and A.J. McLean, were natives of Orlando, FL. Completing the group is transplanted New Yorker Nick Carter. The group met when Richardson moved to Orlando to become a tour guide at Disney World where he eventually met Dorough, Carter and McLean. To complete the quintet they added Littrell. They signed with Jive records in 1994. |
